Singapore SARS death toll at 5
SINGAPORE, April 3 (UPI) -- Singapore reported a fifth death Thursday from the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome.
A total of 100 cases have been reported in Singapore, with 32 hospitalized, including 12 in serious condition, the ministry of health said.
The two new cases reported Thursday were linked to the first index case. To date, 93 cases have arisen from the first index case, comprising 47 family members, friends or close contacts and 46 hospital staff. Among these are three children below 18 years of age.
So far, apart from the first imported case, the six other imported cases have not given rise to any SARS cases.
